About Me

My photo
I am currently in BEd at Nipissing University. My undergraduate degree was in Recreation and Leisure Studies, concentrating in Community Recreation. I am always up for a challege when it comes to involvement, volunteer work and health, such as fitness. Thanks to my sister Leanne: Education is a major aspect of learning; it is what starts the engine to our futures. People are constantly learning and growing in knowledge and experience. My experience with teaching is changing, still fragile, yet I yearn for an epitome of wisdom, which inspires me to teach primary junior.

Great Resource: Classroom management

As I am sitting in my place in North Bay cruising Pintrest, I came across this awesome resource.

Quick update : I only have 13 days left of my Bachelor of Education classes at Nipissing! I am on my way to officially becoming a teacher, crazy!

Collecting Resources Already...

Well, going through SOME of my closet today, I have noticed I have collected soooo much this year for teaching. I have a walk-in closest and the boxes could possibly fill the floor of it, plus more!

I guess this is a good thing (less money in the long run, more money now?? huh??). Either way I am on my way to becoming part of the Ontario College of Teachers!

I will leave this post with this..."patience is a virtue".

Check out SOME of the stuff  have collected :)

March Break Soon Approaching!

Hello everyone :)

I have been very distant  from blogging because I have been CRAZY busy with planning for lessons (not excuse, right?). I am happy to be back in action and really looking forward to posting new pictures and fun stuff I have been learning.

My 2nd placement is going amazing! I am in a grade 4/5 class who has taught me so much! This class is an outstanding class and has really accepted me as apart of portable 1.

This is the last week of teaching before March break. If anyone is familiar with lesson plans and day plans, I am officially writing day plans instead of lesson plans! What a relief! I think I have the lesson plan format ingrained in my brain FOR-EV-ER ( which is a good thing when teaching ) !

Over the last 4 weeks, I have been teaching:
- Math: time unit
- Health : nutrition (learning about sugars and labels) I am getting the students to create posters and advertise an unhealthy product)
- Art: Diego Rivera (mural paintings) Students are in partners creating a mural of a specific theme
-Science: Sound (introducing the use of technology in the classroom using a document camera)

Well this is enough blabbing about myself...I will be back with pictures of my lessons and what I have been doing in the classroom :)

Last week before last placement

Well, the time has come. Time to pack up my bags for an exciting 6 weeks of teaching grades 4/5 in  Cambridge! I am looking forward to this placement and learning more exciting education ideas from teachers and students!

This week is crazy for school but I can tackle through it. The good thing is, I am on my way to successfully  become a certified teacher.

Check List:
-OCT documentation (process)
- Portfolio (done!)
- Resume and cover letter (done!)
- Met awesome people and gained tons of experience (CHECK!)

This year has been amazing! My Bachelor of Education has taught me so much, as well as, my placement in a grade 2 class. Even though I have 6 weeks of placement and 4 weeks of classes, it is soon coming to an end...CRAZY!

Well here is a quick update! I will see all my family and friends in 3 days!
